This painting depicts a slumbering woman, drawing inspiration from the work of American artist Richard S. Johnson. Commissioned by a mattress company, it symbolises the profound tranquillity of sleep. Exploring a style and colour palette that had long intrigued me, I eagerly embraced the opportunity. The warm tones of red and yellow create a visually pleasing composition. Employing a combination of patchwork and blending techniques, I delved into the intricacies of highlights and the nuanced interplay of colours. The gentle strokes around the canvas evoke a dreamlike ambience, contributing to what I consider one of my finest works.

This painting draws its inspiration from a photograph taken somewhere in Greece, where the captivating interplay of colours first seized my attention, as it did for many others who have since beheld this artwork. Despite its recurrent appeal for purchase, my mother refuses to part with it. Using a technique known as patchwork painting, I attempted to infuse this representation of a door with multiple interpretations. To me, it signifies a threshold of possibilities, which is accentuated by the vibrant colours that adorn its surface. Furthermore, the interplay of shadows and light in the composition exposes levels of significance that go beyond first perceptions.

Crafted using a patching technique, every brushstroke pulsates with harmony, welcoming observers to immerse themselves in a realm of cheerful reflection and endless positivity.

Inspired by a photograph, this painting reveals the rich hues hidden within the original source. Venturing into uncharted creative ground, I took on the task of depicting water for the first time, deciding to imbue it with texture suggestive of soft, undulating waves. I used a patch painting method on the boat and backdrop to create a feeling of depth and character. The sky, painted simply in blue, provides a peaceful backdrop. Through this piece, I hoped to portray the tranquil beauty and serenity inherent in the present moment, which is a symbol of peace and calm.
